Things to do in Grasse

Grasse is the perfume capital of the Riviera, about 45 minutes to an hour inland from Nice by car.

The three historic houses, Fragonard, Galimard and Molinard, all offer free factory tours through their distillation halls, while a hands-on perfume-creation workshop where you blend your own scent runs separately, by reservation, usually from around 45 EUR per person.

The Musee international de la Parfumerie covers the town's history in depth. Rose fields bloom roughly in May, jasmine from summer into autumn, though exact dates shift with the season, so treat both as approximate windows rather than fixed dates.
